Sustainable Development Goals

RSVP Caribbean programmes are developed based on the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and are guided by specific themes that contribute to national, regional and international development. Most Caribbean countries are signatories to the SDGs. Each programme contributes to addressing a need in a practical and sustainable way. Each programme is based on a need – a specific priority and so your work as a volunteer will contribute to real solutions. The sustainable development approach ensures that critical issues are addressed and that each volunteer builds on the work of the other. Each programme has a strategic plan, each partner has a plan and each volunteer receives a timetable that supports the programme and partner plans.

The Sustainable Development Goals are:

RSVP Caribbean through its volunteers will focus on seven (7) of these goals – No Poverty, Good Health and Well-Being, Quality Education, Clean Water and Sanitation, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Sustainable Cities and Communities and Climate Action. Based on discussions with key partners at all levels in the countries that we operate, these goals and related programmes have been identified as the urgent ones.
